From my understanding their have been a couple of proposals for new tallests since the batman was built. For whatever reason, they didn't get built.

There was the amp, which caused more public outcry than it should have.

There was some bible theme park a out a half decade ago. When it didn't pass in Murfreesboro, it went to Lebanon. Same story.

Think about it, we could have had a couple new tallests, a brt line, and a theme park. That would have put us in a new tier, or at least leveled the playing field with a city like Charlotte.

At least our MSA is growing and we are receiving a lot of national attention at the moment. And we are experiencing a building boom. But aside from the 505 building that probably won't happen, nothing that could bridge the gap between Nashville and say Indy, Cindy, Charlotte, or Columbus is being built.

IMHO, not having that Bible theme park is a good thing.

Do you live in the Nashville area currently? Your posts say "we," but if those ^^^ are your examples of why Nashville won't "live up to its potential," then you've missed a lot of stuff that HAS happened.

There's currently a proposal for a 64 story 750 ft tower downtown, and there's a pretty good chance it will happen. There was a proposal back in the mid 2000s, but the reason it wasn't built was because of the housing bubble/the economy.

I agree we have a long way to go, but look back 20 years and honestly tell me we haven't come a long way.

No matter how you cut it, a theme park is a good thing. A theme park looks good in a big city. A big city without a theme park can be considered lacking. The theme might be a bit conservative, but it's a theme park. It's creative. I thought this was a great way to appease the conservatives but no, they voted against it, twice.

By whom?

Tourists have not exactly been avoiding Nashville because it doesn't have a theme park.

Nashville leads way in record-setting year for tourism

Do you live here now???

No, I live on and off between Antioch, TN and the Bay Area. I haven't lived in Davidson County in about 18 months.

I know the city is booming, I read about it all the time. But look at what happened to the amp, bible theme park. There hasn't been any significant changes to the Nashville skyline since the pinnacle tower. I remain cautiously optimistic about 505 being built.
