Yeah I hesitated to post it but figured it would be posted somewhere anyway (like the Nashville Business Journal) so might as well let people find it here at city-data.

Most people in Memphis know their city isn't the best place to retain a good creative work force.

But the article does come across as in your face to Memphis.

I posted a rundown with some of the major Nashville developments that are either proposed, in prep, or under construction in another thread and figured I would update this one as well. This is not a comprehensive list at all. It just includes some of the major projects around 200 feet or over that I believe stand a strong chance of happening if they are not already underway.

505 Church Street/Paramount | 543 Feet | Site Prep/Financed
*Design has been slightly tweaked from this rendering.*

Bridgestone Americas Headquarters | 460 feet | Under Construction

Buckingham Gulch ResidentialTower | 450+ feet | Proposed

JW Marriott Hotel | 385 feet | Site Prep
*Office tower rendered to the right has been scratched and the land will be sold of other development*

The SoBro Apartment Tower | 345 feet | Under Construction

Westin Hotel | 310 feet | Under Construction

222 Second Avenue | 305 feet | Financed

Former Nashville Convention Center Redevelopment (Office/Residential/Retail) | ~300 feet each | Proposed

Elmington Capitol Music Row Residential Tower | ~290 feet | Proposed

Skyhouse Nashville | 289 feet | Under Construction

HCA's Parallon/Sarah Cannon Office tower (part of massive Capital View development) | 267 feet | Under Construction

1922 Broadway Residential | ~250 feet | Proposed

Northpoint's AC Hotel/Springhill Suites/Residence Inn at Korean Veterans Blvd | ~225 feet | Proposed

1201 Demonbreun Office Tower | ~200 feet | Under Construction

Lennar M Residences | ~200 feet | Site Prep

Kimpton Hotel & The Aertson Apartments | ~200 feet | Under Construction

So those big grassy areas in the picture are a bit of false advertising, because I don't know where they're going to put that.

One of those big grassy areas is already U/C as the 6 story "Cadence" apt building.

Renderings are to showcase the building....if they were to include what is already there on all sides, it would obstruct the bottom part of the building.
