Potential development news at the soon-to-be former Nelson Mazda location at 12th and Broadway:

Grocery, restaurants, fashion stores likely for Broadway site.

Grocery is a definite need for the downtown/midtown area.

I'd love to see a Publix there.

"It’s the best urban retail site in the city,”
I would definitely disagree with that! It's going to be a traffic nightmare and an even worse pedestrian nightmare.

I thought there was a grocery store going in over in the 11th/Charlotte complex.

And what is going in at (1) 3th Ave N btwn Monroe/Taylor and (2) 3rd Ave N btwn Taylor/Van Buren? Both half block (1) and full block (2) have been razed.

There needs to be traffic calming measures taken there OR pedestrian enhancements. I was walking around that area last week and wouldnt have felt safe crossing Broadway.

Pretty much every empty/industrial lot over there is going to change within the next 5 or so years.

That area you speak of looks like it will rival the massive Werthan block.

San Francisco Bay area-based DayNine Consulting plans to open a Nashville office in October.

The human resources and consulting firm has leased 30,000 square feet, according to The Tennessean, and plans to bring 200 jobs here by the end of 2016.

DayNine looked at 20 other cities, but ultimately chose office space at downtown's Bank of America Plaza. Once fully staffed, the Nashville location will account for a third of the firm's global workforce.

“We fell in love with the vibrancy and the culture of Nashville,” DayNine CEO Tim Ramos told The Tennessean.

The company looks to work with area colleges and universities and is already talking to other companies about attracting and recruiting more young professionals to Nashville.

DayNine helps customers to deploy and implement new human resources and financial systems using the Workday software application.
