Gallatin's food scene is small but growing. As the 600 and 1000 housing building projects get underway, the population will grow and Gallatin's food options will grow as well.

Just heard about Foxland Southern Grill.

Menu looks good (on the pricy side) and might make for a nice place for a date night.

It's called Swaney Swift on the Square...in the former Whipporwill location...and even former before that, the Swaney Swift drug store. Pretty cool ambiance. Food is good, great desserts. Decent beer selection. Expect very long waits and (hopefully) growing pains service as they start out.

I highly recommend Crescent City Poboys. Great New Orleans cuisine. Great service. Also on the square. I'd go to Crescent City before Swaney Swift now that I've tried them both.

Just noticed this.. It appears they'll have wine and tapas.

Franklin's Mercantile and Wine

I've been to Crescent City Poboys and Swaney Swift on the Square, and enjoyed the food at both.

That sounds like a great addition to the square. Thanks for the link.

Here's a new place out at Sumner County Regional Airport.

Sky Burgers Diner

Haven't tried it yet, but the Wind Socks sound interesting.

Hmm...that is an interesting choice for a location. There's not much out that way at all on the weekends, but maybe they'll have a healthy lunch crowd from all the industrial workers nearby during the week. It would be cool to sit there and watch the planes take off I guess. I'll have to check this out. Thanks!

And just to update the thread, there's also Prince Street Pizza & Pub just off the square on Prince Street:

Article about the grand opening here.

I've been once...pretty good. Definitely a dive bar feel for it but it is family friendly. Great outdoor space. Darts and pinball too I think. Lots of good brew options. Pizza was okay, not exceptional, but I'd definitely give it a few more tries.

Try Foxland for lunch, sit out on the patio over the lake...very good and less pricey.

Chubb’s Sports Bar and BBQ is opening in the old The Grayfeather Grill location (122 W. Franklin St). It will feature more than 20 televisions, two pool tables and a full beer and liquor bar.

“If you want to go watch football, grab a beer and get good food, there is nowhere in Gallatin to do that other than a couple of establishments that are all chains,” owner Wayne Holloway said. “I’m doing this really for fun and just to give the community somewhere else to go and have fun that is unique.”

There just hasn't been much that has been able to succeed at that location for some reason.
