I'm more interested in hearing about the hotel. ;-)

Last year I planned a weekend vacation with a certain young lady at the Hermitage (stay at the hotel, then go to a show at TPAC, then . . . well, whatever) even though I live in Nashville.

I love the history of that old place.

My sister's best friend (who is sister-in-law to Louise Mandrell) is in Nashville and they were at a flea market when someone walked up to my sister and asked "where did you get those baskets?". My sister said "Are you Amy Grant" and the answer "yes I am" and my sister blithely points to where she got them and said "over there and they're only $5.00" as if price remotely mattered to Ms. Grant. Same sister has been to Louise's house in the country north of town many times.

I have to tell a quick Houston story since it's where I am, but if ever a city was proud of a legendary local band it is this town with ZZ Topp. After a beer at happy hour about a year ago I'm starting my car when I see a chauffeured Chrysler 300 approaching with a long beard in the front seat who gets out and the car leaves. I go back into the place and sit down at the bar. Billy Gibbons is sitting at a table with 2 guys. After 20 minutes one of the guys comes to the bar to order a round and I ask to put it on my tab. I finish my beer and start towards the door and turn and wave to the guys and one of them yells out "hey thanks guy, come on over and meet Billy" So I sat down for another beer and conversation for about 20 minutes, until Billy left. I remember telling him about seeing Tower of Power at the Golden Bear in Newport Beach CA in the 70's, and he lamenting how this famous 20's speakeasy on the beach had been torn down (he has a CA residence also). For those who don't know, Billy is lead guitar, songwriter and singer on all the band's stuff, Mr ZZ Top himself.

Oh, I forgot to mention James...(we've always called him Jamie). He's an old childhood friend, but his sister and brother still live "around" this area.

A couple of years ago I was at the airport waiting for my husband to pick me up. It was cold outside so I stayed inside looking out as the cars pulled up. I saw a woman come up behind me. She was also peering out the glass wall. She was dressed all in black with flaming red hair flowing out from under a black gaucho style hat. She was carrying black luggage. I thought she looked familiar but I couldn't immediately place her. A big black SUV pulled up and she carried her bags outside and put them in the back. Then it hit me -- it was Wynonna Judd. It was hard to believe that she was traveling alone and carrying her own baggage -- just like me.

Gosh seeing how may celebrity sightings you've all had, I need to get a copy of People magazine and brush up on what the stars all look like. I am at the airport quite often and I haven't seen anyone. I always give a quick look over to the people sitting in first class on my way to NYC hoping to recognize someone, but hasn't happened yet.

Thumbs up seeing celebs

About 3 Yrs Ago The Titans Played The Bucs In Nash. I Bought Tickets For My Son And I To Go. It Was His Xmas Present. That Night After The Game I Had To Fly Back To Tampa. I Was At The Airport And Noticed A Lady Who Looked Familiar. Long Story Short It Was Linda Lynch. She Was With Cindy Gruden And Kelly Ring Who Is A Local Anchor Woman On Our Fox 13. They Were Going Back To Tampa From The Game. So We Were All On The Same Southwest Plane. Also At Dillards A Sales Lady In The Childrens Dept. Told Me Wynonia Judd Came In All The Time. Said She Was The Nicest Of All The Stars. The Same Lady Said Faith Hill Use To Come In With Her Kids And Shop In The Childrens Dept. Many Many Years Ago When I Lived In Antioch Dolly Parton Lived Up The Street On Reeves Rd. Her Band Parked Their Bus On The Corner Of Antioch Pk. And Richards Rd. There Was A Gas Station There. Dolly Drove A Silver Caddie. Oh What Memories!!!!!!!!

I don't know if you call him a "celebrity" but a couple of years or so ago I saw Lelan Statum in the Walmart in Gallatin. Just last week I think I saw him at the Hendersonville Walmart. Does any one know if he lives out that way?
