So I have been looking around for apartments since if we move to Tennessee we will most likely need to stay in an apartment until our current home sells. I have noticed that all of the apartments are apartment complexes almost like townhomes or condos. Is there are any apartments that are duplexes or just houses for rent? We are figuring we are going to be living around Smyrna.

There are house rentals. You can find some on Craigslist or in local classifieds.

Try realtracs.com. It's the local MLS service but also list rentals. Also try Padmapper and Hotpads. These are both aggregator sites (picks up from daily classifieds and Craigslist, etc.).

We list rental properties on Craigslist, HotPads, Zillow, etc. There are also some home/condo rentals on realtracs.com Those are handled by agents.
