It's been a couple of years since I went (on a Thursday, mid morning)....most of the lots were full or asking for your firstborn. I ended up parking in the Public Square Garage (not to be confused with the underground garage at the courthouse --this is between 3rd, 4th, Charlotte, and Deaderick) for $10. It's definitely a good walk...but on the flip side, it's very easy to get out of there.

John Nash and his wife are in a taxi on the freeway in Jersey and were not wearing seatbelts.

Good luck on Public Square garage.

Yes, I know John Nash and his wife were not wearing seatbelts. Tracy Morgan probably wasn't either. I think we get complacent when we are being chauffeured!

That garage looks possible. Bit of a walk but I'd rather walk in that direction than back up to behind the Frist which was my other thought? Sounds like most will park over at LP field. Well, it is what it is, right? I will be writing the dates of next years CMA on my 2016 calendar.

Isn't Michael McDonald local? Seems like he could have picked a better night to play . . . .

I don't know if he lives here now, but he was raised in a little well-known town called Ferguson, Missouri.

They are going to have rolling closings starting this Friday (1st Ave).

Here are the main closings:

Demonbreun - 4th to 6th Also btwn 1st-2nd early
Broadway - 2nd to 4th Also btwn 1st-2nd early

5th Ave - KVB to Demon.
1st Ave - Demon. to Church

I would suggest not getting off at Demon/Broadway exits.
I would also put money on 8th Ave/Franklin Rd being backed up for a long way.

Wow, that's a weird little bit of trivia.

He lives in Franklin/Leipers Fork now.

Thanks N.Cal. It's looking bleak! Maybe I should circle around the city and approach from the top? I called the Ryman. They told me their Valet parking is for Nissan's only? Maybe I should buy a new car in the next week.

Or maybe Michael can pick me up on his way in from Leipers Fork???

I would get off at Church/Charlotte and drive up Charlotte. And then park as far north as you are comfortable walking. I'll be parking at work through Friday (since we can get past the police barricades but we still have to deal with traffic). Though Saturday for sure I'll take Lyft and get dropped off.

Every year I think "I hate this crap. Next year, I'm taking vacation CMA Week". Every year I forget.
