Will be spending a portion of my time (7 days) visiting the schools (elem, mid, high) in all the towns we are interested moving to. Towns are Nolensville, Franklin and Spring Hill. The schools will dictate IF we will be relocating from LA and WHERE we will be moving to if Williamson County schools are as good as people say they are. That said, any suggestions on what you would do if you had a week to spend in and around Nashville??? (By the way, wife and son are staying at home so this is a solo due diligence trip.) Many thanks!!!

Well, I would be sure and come Feb. 23rd so you could catch my show at Puckett's in Leipers Fork!

Seriously, do you have appt.s scheduled with the schools? Maybe hit the district offices to start with (Williamson County abd Franklin Special), then visit a campus or 12. You can read all the stats, but there's nothing like walking through the halls and sitting in on a class.

Also, the right realtor can give you tons of info on each school. If you post here, we can as well. Name a school and we can hook you up with a family that attends.

Good luck!

I am seriously interested in the Nolensville area. What elementary school is the best with middle, and high school rep's as well. Our child is in the 4th grade. We want a smooth transition. Also, the best commute route to 1-24 Metro area. What are some great neighborhoods to seriouly consider and what neighborhood/subdivision areas would you avoid. You have been very helpful with your posts. Thank you for your help.

I will be there the 8th - 12th. I too will be looking at the Elem. schools. You are right that is a huge factor in where we will be relocating to. We are coming from Florida where we have FCAT ratings, does Tennessee have that as well? If so is there a website I can look at the ratings on?

Nolensville would be Ravenwood HS. It is very good. I have friends children that attend there. It is also one of the schools in the Brentwood School System. I don't know about the Nolensville Elementry schools, so I can't comment.
Nolensville has a lot of nice subdivisions in all price ranges. There are quite a few new ones if that is what you are looking for. It is a nice town, and new shopping is planned in the very near future.
As for Commute to I-24, I would take Nolensville Road to Berkett Rd to I-24 if you are going towards Nashville, if going towards Chattanooga, take Nolensville to 840 to Rt 24.
I live in Nashville, but the part that borders Brentwood, and I'm really close to Nolensville, so close that their post office is easier and closer for me to use than the one in my Zip code.

We might be neighbors! I'm in Autumn Oaks just at the county line.
