Hello, I'm a single female re-locating to Nashville/Antioch/Doneldson area from North Carolina and am currently in the process of identifying a suitable apartment complex etc. within a 25 min drive of the Airport (work). I am looking for a 1 bedroom at no more than $900. I was able to come to Nashville and visit apartments but wasn't able to view all on my list or talk to a tenant (and was discouraged by some of those). I'm not looking for a luxury apartment but something that isn't overridden with pest and/or mold would be nice (I was actually shown a "market ready apartment" at one complex in Nashville that had mold around the tub lining and they were charging $900). I don't mind driving 30 min to get to leisure activities/entertainment. I've tried reading though the previous thread but thought it would be easier to ask.

Please feel free to share apartment names if you have previously lived there are no someone who has lived there in the past few years. Also, is anyone familiar with Arbor Hills Apartments, Discovery at Mountain View or Ceadar Pointe Apartments and traffic in the area if driving to the airport? For the most part I'm okay with what I saw of some of the Antioch and Donelson area (so feel free to suggest locations outside of Nashville too). I would appreciate any first hand knowledge. Thanks!

I would look in Hermitage and Donelson. Mt. Juliet would be a little more than what you are wanting to spend. Maybe Lebanon or East Nashville but that would put your commute at a little higher time. East Nashville may be over your budget too.

As someone who suddenly finds himself living closer to O'Hare courtesy of airport expansion, I'd strongly recommend either finding out flight paths and/or evaluating the apartment when planes are flying overhead. Planes going by overhead every 45 seconds starts to wear you out. I've heard 2 in the time it took me to type this.

Donelson/Hermitage is across I-40 and not so near the airport that you have the noise problem. With Southwest as the maim carrier, we may not have the big 747 type aircraft to make so much noise. THe hills seem to help a lot in making a buffer to the noise. While an international airport, Nashville isn't the size of O'Hare or Atlanta. It may compare more with Midway with a lot more green space surrounding the airport before you get to apartments.

Think of Nashville like the Indy airport in format. Midway, too me, would be more busy than what Nashville would be. Midway airport is also much more urban in nature.

Comparing BNA to Midway is like comparing apples & oranges.

Stewarts Ferry is less than a 5 minute drive to the airport and is quite a nice place. I have lived here now for right at a year and have zero complaints. Highly recommend this place if you want near the airport and a decent place to live.

Discovery at Mountain View is fairly new, at least 7 years, nice, gated property. Some units have garages. Its far out in Antioch at the intersection of Murfreesboro Rd. and Hobson Pk. so its easier access to the Providence Shopping area in Mt. Juliet, Priest Lake and Long Hunter State Park, and the Shopping area in Smryna than anything else in Nashville. Without traffic is about 15 mins up Murfreesboro Rd. to Donelson Pk. where the airport is.

Second this. I lived there for 13 months before moving out but it wasn't any fault of the apartments, I just had other plans so I moved. I have two friends who just signed leases there also. I recommend it and the leasing staff is really nice. It's right off of I-40 and is one exit (3 miles) from the airport plus it's near the lake and the heart of Donelson.

Thank you guys for your responses. I will look into the availability of Stewarts Ferry. Also thanks thunderstruck666 for pointing out possible flight plan/ airplane noise concerns.
