Who knew? The original Parthenon in Greece was painted in bright colors 2,500 years ago. Today the only full-scale replica of the Parthenon is in Nashville's Centennial Park, but it's without all the colors. A Japanese television network which has a show called "Discover World's Wonders" is going to light up Nashville's Parthenon at 8pm this Sunday evening November 29 in hopes of showing what the original Parthenon looked like 2,500 years ago. The public is invited to attend. I hope a lot of people do, and I hope we'll get some good pictures of this.

Nashville Parthenon to be lit in original colors Sunday

Cool idea!

I still wish they had not painted the face on the Athena statue, though, but left it the way it was.

And here's the final product..

Pretty neat, but personally I prefer old way. Or wait, is it technically the new way? The colorless way.

And I agree about Athena. It just wasn't quite necessary.
