Does anyone have experience or thoughts on the Maury & Claiborne area? Basically north of Lafayette, south of 40, and west of 24. It seems like an area ripe for development. 1.5 miles from downtown, new development popping up like crazy on the other side of 40 to the N/NW. Prices are already creeping up with home prices reaching over $100K.

Maybe, if it weren't for the massive housing project ...

And I think the area further down towards Trevecca will start to develop first (there are already some developments in the works). I think the new police HQ will help with that.

Walden Village has already sold a lot of units off Nance near Trevecca between $250-300K. Investors have been over there for a few years, and yes-prices are starting to trend upward. I've seen several things be pulled from the market and relisted higher. There are still some challenges to that area, but being so close to town it seems inevitable things will happen.

I think the new Police station will breathe new life into that area.
