It is now the Smyrna Airport. At one time, C-130 pilots trained there. Here is a YouTube video showing the base when it was active.

I was stationed at Sewart AFB from April 1964 to September 1967. I was a member of the 4448th CCTS. I maintained and operated the C-130 Link Flight Simulators there at that time. If you went through pilot or flight engineer training, you went through one of our Flight Simulators. I was the guy siting at the operators console outside the cockpit. I did the radio calls, nav aids and was stand by maintenance if the simulator broke.

4448th ccts sewart afb, tennessee- 1964 to 1967 - flight simulator specialist-c130e (the one by the back door)- night shift-i don't remember a ted johnson. Which simulator were you assigned to ?

GOBOBUSAF. I worked on the B model just across from yours in the newer section of the building. The B was replaced with an E model later and I worked on it. The one you worked on had a visual system in stalled on it. Modcut: Please send via Direct Message.
