In two or three more weeks, we'll start to see signs of spring. It won't quite be here, but at least you can sense the end of winter.

Is your husband working at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital? I work for a structural engineering firm and we were the engineers for it. They are also building a new addition.

No, he is at the medical center and he is liking it a lot. The children's hospital looks very nice though and it is nice to know that it is there if we ever need it. Funny, most of his family are engineers so he does have an engineers mind, it drives me nuts sometimes :-)

One of the local television stations has a weather cam right there at Vanderbilt. Those cameras always make it look cloudier (grayer) than it really is however. You can Google for WTVF and then go the Weather > Vanderbilt Sky Cam. They usually have it pointed towards downtown.

Thanks! I actually saw that the other day when I was investigating the weather with the tornadoes in the area. I guess we'll have to learn the warning system, huh? My husband was working late and called to say that they had came over the PA system to say that there was a yellow alert.

The theory used to be that tornadoes didn't hit larger cities such as Nashville. That was until about 1998 when we watched one go right down Charlotte Avenue. You can probably guess that a bunch of structural engineers wanted to watch it; we refused to go to the stairwell like they wanted us to.
