So, I was contacted recently by a company, and they are speaking of relocating me to Nashville for a job. If things go well, it sounds like my family and I may be moving / relocating to Nashville. Currently we only live 2.5-3 hrs away in Knoxville.

We would like somewhere that is considered safe, as we have a young child that likes to go out and play, etc. We want to be in a fairly low crime area. We are by no means rich, so housing would probably be around 200k give or take.

The other consideration is that I will be working in the middle of downtown, so getting to and from downtown must be taken in to consideration.

We are a fairly young family in our mid 20s and early 30's. Any recommendations?

are you open to townhomes?

Bellevue, Donelson and Hermitage probably all fit your needs.

not really looking for townhomes / apartments / condos or renting honestly, unless its a very very short temporary type thing.

Also,

How is work hour traffic getting to and from those areas mentioned into downtown?

Donelson & Hermitage are closer to Downtown. It would be an easier commute than most.

You can check for homes in your price range on this site:

RealTracs Real Estate Mid-South Property Finder

Look in Davidson County, don't put any commas in your price points, and when the list comes up, click the "AREA" column and look for "7" - that will be Hermitage and I think Donelson, too?

I had to look at a map . . . it's not that user friendly but it's a big area so once you narrow down where you want to be, it eventually makes sense. If you find one you like, look the address up on Zillow.com as it will have different info such as school ratings, taxes, etc. Good luck!
