Southwest should really consider making Nashville a formal hub once this is all over, complete with an actual crew base and a maintenance hanger when all said and done.

Southwest doesn’t have formal ‘hubs’, and their southeast crew base is in Atlanta

JetBlue is adding service from Nashville to Cancún which will be the 4th airline to fly between Nashville and Cancún. The others are Delta, Southwest, and Spirit. This also makes the 4th destination that JetBlue serves out of BNA, the others being Boston, Fort Lauderdale, and New York JFK.

JetBlue is also boosting service from Cancun, with flights to Austin, Las Vegas, Nashville and Sacramento beginning on March 4. Those routes come despite a recent warning from the Center for Disease Control to avoid all unnecessary travel to Mexico.

Hope by March 4 the Covid situation has improved. The last place to be sick is in Mexico if you can't get back & your health insurance does not work there.

Allegiant is adding four more destinations served out of BNA:

Albany NY
Boise ID
McAllen TX
Portsmouth NH

This will make 32 cities Allegiant flies to from Nashville International.

In addition, Allegiant is going to provide temporary service to Sturgis SD later this year for the Sturgis Rally, and Nashville is one of 9 cities which will have that service.

It appears they are going to be building a satellite concourse with 8 gates. I wonder who will take those gates?

Probably Southwest. It's only being designed to handle 737s/A320s as the largest aircraft type.

One downside is that based on the plans, they are planning on using a bus connection, rather than a people mover solution. It's likely way cheaper, but much more inconvenient for the traveler

Spirit Airlines has announced it will start flying between Nashville and New York's LaGuardia Airport this June. This will be the 4th airline to fly between Nashville and LaGuardia, the others being American, Delta, and Southwest.

Spirit began flying to Nashville just over a year ago (October 2019), and LaGuardia will be their 11th destination out of BNA. Other cities that Spirit serves out of Nashville include Austin, Baltimore, Cancún, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Newark, New Orleans, Orlando, and Tampa.
