Hello everyone,

I will be traveling from Minnesota to Florida this Christmas. Last year, I hi Nashville right at the afternoon rush hour, which slowed down our trip by what seemed like 2 hours .

Is there a faster method, to getting around Nashville during rushhour >? thanks in advance !

I take it you'll be coming from 24 or 65? Unfortunately Nashville doesn't have a true outerbelt to just drive around the city. Honestly I'd use the waze app to adjust your drive. You could take 440 to avoid going straight through downtown but honestly depending on when you come through it may not be much better.

I guess I would be coming from 24, but am coming from far enough away, I could come from whatever makes the most sense.

I will check out the waze app, have never used that before

Does 49, to 250, to 840 make any sense ? it would be going around the southwest way. so from clarksville, to springhill, to murfreeboro, while avoiding Nashville.

I am not sure how busy those highways are during normal afternoon rush hour ?

If you are coming to town, a good bypass route would be I=24 to Briley Pkwy East, then take Briley Pkwy to the point that you can pick up I-24 on the SE side of town. That would get you beyond the downtown area.

If you can time your arrival to Nashville, I would come thru here around 8 pm.

No need to take the 840 route. You'd be going out of your way.

Rush hour is busy, morning and afternoon.

No. You can take i24 to Briley then back to i24 at 6:30pm or later and be just fine or you can go before 4pm taking the exact way. Waiting until 8 would be a little extreme taking the Briley to 24 route.

I disagree. I-24 to Murfreesboro is horrible in the afternoon.

I disagree. I take this route at 6:30 and have very few problems. It is horrible in afternoon but clears up south of Briley by 6:30 most of the time. Do you take this route Artemis? Why 8pm past Briley exit on i24.

to get beyond rush hour.

They will still have to get around downtown, and it gets very messy up by I-65.
