I am planning on moving to Nashville within the month from across the country, and am thus looking for an apartment. I will be working on Broadway, right in the middle of downtown. I was wondering two things really.
1. Where would be a good place to live, either general location or specific apartment, considering I would not like to spend over 1200 a month in rent?
2. How bad is rush hour traffic?

I have found an apartment, Whetstone flats, that is near the Brentwood area, that seemed like a good place, but apparently the I-24 traffic is atrocious during rush-hour? Or so I have been told by the one contact I have there.

That's not Brentwood.

I'd look at the new place at Metrocenter.

Or the other place in Metrocenter. You'd be about 12 minutes from Broadway.

What about something in Germantown? The area near Bell Rd. & I-24, where whetstone flats is very congested. It wouldn't be a very desirable commute to Broadway either.
