Looks like Nashville will be one of the hot spots (no pun intended) to be during the Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017. The path of totality will be crossing over a path 70 miles wide and stretches from Oregon to South Carolina. It passes through Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
I have a feeling all hotels are booked that day.

Nashville seems to be extremely high when it comes to booking a hotel room, especially if there is an event going on like CMT Festival, July 4th, ect. Try the neighboring cities outside of Nashville like in Franklin, Murfreesboro or Mt Juliet.

Just a family event, but loads of local organizations are having their own. Including the City of Nashville's at First TN Park. Gallatin, which will have the longest amount of totality in the state around 2:30 I read, is having a huge bash at Triple Creek Park which sits on the center line of the eclipse.

Wish I had bought more than 6 NASA approved pairs of Eclipse glasses. Just spent $24 mailing 2 up to my niece at UT Chatt. They have suspended classes for the day on Monday!
