DAFFODIL DAY
The town glows golden with thousands of daffodils dancing in the sun. Come and enjoy the "friendly" competition of the Daffodil Show in the Town Hall.

The fun begins as it does each year with the daffodil show, which kicks off at 9 a.m., when the show entries will be accepted at Bell Buckle Town Hall, followed by judging from 10:30 after which the show will reopen.

Ribbons will be given to first, second, and third place winners in each category. A gift certificate will be presented for Best of Show. Categories will be: A single daffodil (in a clear glass container), daffodil collection, daffodil arrangement and youth award.

At 11 a.m. will be the annual Arbor Day ceremony, featuring the presentation of the Tree City USA Award to the Town of Bell Buckle. This is the seventh year the town has attained this status. Duck River Electric Membership Corporation will also be honored with the Tree Line USA award, which will be its fourth such honor.

There will also be a short ceremony at the painted quilt on the town square parking lot, where the Arbor Day Foundation Poster Contest winners from Cascade School will be recognized and the Bell Buckle Citizen of the Year will be announced.

At 11:30 a.m., the daffodil show winners will be announced and ribbons will be awarded.

After that, it's off to Bell Buckle Park for a traditional spring activity -- kite flying. Aside from that, visitors can enjoy the celebration with special clogging performances. Phillips General Store will hold an open house, and new spring merchandise will be on display at all Bell Buckle shops.

Also, free tree seedlings from the Tennessee Urban Forestry Division will be available all day on the square.
