Hello,

Not sure if this is an allowable question, but having a hard time searching on the web. My son is moving down in July to just east of Brentwood area. He is still covered by our insurance till 25, but is out of network for regular dr appointments or even convenient care as it's called in IL. So my question is this, if one were to have a cold, etc where would one be able to go if they didn't have insurance. He would be able to pay, just no insurance right now, has to wait a few months. And then when he does, are there better facilities than others? If not allowed to answer on the board, please feel free to message me. Thank you in advance.

Lots of "urgent care" walk in clinic places he can use. Just have him steer clear from Emergency Rooms unless it's life or death. CVS has One Minute Clinics and Vanderbilt has various walk in clinics. Just Google "Walk In Clinic - Bellevue/Brentwood/Franklin TN" (fill in the town/city) and you'll get a list. Out of network, sometimes you can get a 'pass' - one time only - but woth asking about it.

If he has to wait 3 months or less and doesn't have any pre existing conditions, he can get a short term policy that will have most all places here in Nashville in network for less than 100 per month.

I hope this goes without saying (or maybe you didn't mean "cold" literally) but . . . seeing a doctor for a cold is a waste of everyone's time.
