I just graduated from college and am moving to Nashville here in a month or so. I will be working in the Gulch, but I don't necessarily want to live there. I have a dog, so I'd like to have an apartment where he can run and have easy access to outside.

I am a smaller female, and I am not even remotely intimidating, so I would like either a one or two bedroom apartment in a safe area of town. Also, I'd like to spend no more than $900 per month on rent. Suggestions, please!!!

I would look in Donelson or Hermitage. You'll be close enough to Downtown for work, but not in the high rent district. I would live in either area.

Bellevue has a lot of nice and new dog-friendly apartments, and easy commute into the gulch...about 10-15 minutes from 40 at OHB. (Have fun figuring out all the OHB's ) Also, this is the area a lot of young professionals end up, so would be easy to find a roommate if you wanted.

Do you think Hermitage is safer than the area bordered by Nolensville Pike, Heywood Ln, I24, and Harding Pl? My daughter got a job in that area and she's looking in the same price range.
