The lesson here I would like to emphasize, as a lifelong native Nashvillian, is Austin is awesome and the 85 people who are moving here daily should consider Austin instead.

I kid. Somewhat. But this is a good list. And in looking at the list I'm glad to see Huntsville up there too. That city is truly a hidden gem.

I agree with Don as far as wishing folks would consider elsewhere. Not to be unfriendly but Nashville and the surrounding counties hust can't accomodate the numbers moving here.

One thing all potential movers should know is the traffic problem is growing exponentially and even if there is a solution it will be years in the making. Nashville is so condensed there is no room for widening interstates and the street grid is not traffic friendly as compared to a city like Memphis. There are areas like Green Hills that has become a nightmare to drive in unfortunately.

It seems like one of their criteria (cost of living) would eliminate many of those picks.

I was thinking that too. San jose? San francisco?

Btw, Nashville sounds neat. I will bring my California money and help inflate property values.

Im not an Austin fan so any list with it at the top is suspect for my values. Fortunately Ive been to Williamson County which I consider as nice a place to live as Ive seen. It is not undiscovered though as home prices reflect the great things it offers, its not a hidden gem one might say.

I am a suburban guy, and honestly found Williamson county to my liking from a density and open space stand point. Also the blend of historic sites and an amazing amount of newer construction makes it a gem to me.

I do not need ratification from lists like this, all it does is bring more people than the already fast paced growth its seeing. At least its not growing 150k a year as where I am now. That is too fast to handle

I found out today that I'll be moving within a month at the most I believe. Bittersweet but it is what it is. Nashville is certainly a great place to grow up and live

Seattle. I'm sure it'll end up being a good thing, and I wouldn't go if I truly didn't want to, but it's still a little nerve racking in the mean time.

Good luck! I have a number of friends there and they all love it. And - you'll be getting a hockey team in a year!
