Hi, I’ve heard that Nashville’s main downtown area (I believe it’s called Broadway) is mostly touristy.. Is this true, or is it also the main area that locals frequent as well?

It's touristy, but something you should check out if you're visiting. You'll find some locals around, especially if there's an event at Bridgestone (Predators Hockey, concerts) but for the most part it is mainly tourists.

Locals tend to hang out in other parts of town...Germantown, East Nashville, 12South, The Gulch are all hotspots for dining and entertainment that are more geared for locals...but you'll find some tourists there too.

Don's right. It's definitely super touristy, but I always have a great time when I do go down there.

There's usually so many events going on downtown that even if they aren't going to the Broadway honky tonks, there will be locals on their way to some venue or restaurant.

TIP: They won't be wearing cowboy hats.

Or on pedal taverns, limos with hot tubs on the back, or tractors pulling flatbeds.

By the looks of Broadway on any given weekend, Nashville's economy is approximately 92% bachelorette-dependent.

It is designed for the tourists, although I walk around there a few times a week. The exception is for events at Bridgestone Arena, Titans games, and events at MCC. There is a mixed crowd, but I would say the majority of Nashville residents stay away. Going to the Ryman of course is the exception.

I have seen Preds fans and Titans fans rent those out. You don't have to be a tourist to rent one. However; they dictate what music you are allowed to play on the pedal taverns. A bunch of us wanted to get one of those listen to death metal and heavy metal and they would not let us rent one!

I believe that one is for one of the radio stations and they pick Preds fans.
