IKEA retail is dead. They're contracting. In five years, they'll be ONLINE only. Those stores will be warehouse hubs from where they ship orders.

The Oakland A's are considering leaving the Oakland area if a new stadium deal is not reached.

The article says they will *most likely* move to Vegas (!!) if they do move, to stay west. But the article says it could open up the first step, for the Tampa Bay Rays to consider moving to Nashville.

I think when Nashville (not if) gets an MLB team, it most likely will be one that relocates.

We will see what happens.

There are also rumors for Tampa to move to Montreal, maybe to be the new Expo's. could be a hybrid where Tampa plays 2 months in Florida then has some games in Montreal.

Yeah, I've read that too.

I think top cities for MLB to relocate to (or expand) are Las Vegas, Nashville and Montreal.

Charlotte and Portland are on the list too.

Tampa City Council member Charlie Miranda said Friday that Tampa Bay Rays president Brian Auld told him this week that relocating to Nashville might be in the cards.

Miranda said Rays President Brian Auld brought up Nashville as a possible destination for the team if the solution for a new Rays ballpark doesn’t materialize in Tampa.

“They mentioned Nashville. They said Nashville wants to do it,” Miranda said, recounting what he was told by Auld and Rays vice president for public affairs and corporate communications Rafaela Amador.

Could be the start of a team relocation to Nashville.

Lots of hoops remaining to jump through still, for sure.

But all in all, a potentially good sign that Nashville may get an MLB team sooner, rather than later.

Somehow, the Nashville Rays, don't really sound right.

They would most likely become "The Nashville Stars" I would imagine.

At least that is the name the formed "MLB baseball to Nashville" has decided they would like to see with a new team.

We will see! Exciting to watch develop.

Move Atlanta. I saw the 1996 World Series against the Yanks (the whole upper deck was Yankee fans) and we got tickets at the ticket window the day of the game. That would never happen in a real sports city like NY, Boston, Philly, Chicago....

Default It would be absurd to consider Portland OR for another major sports franchise

Portland is a disaster, with its dysfunctional government, massive increases in crime and homelessness and continually riots and civic disturbances. I can't see how any major professional sports league would consider placing a team in that region.

Also, Portland is relatively close to Seattle, another dysfunctional and rapidly declining city with a MLB team that is one of the worst organizations in its sport, and does not draw well.
