There are also quite a few hotels in Franklin at Exit 65 (Route 96) that are cheap, near Williamson Medical Center. Baymont is running $60 a night in early January. But it would be more like 30 minutes depending on the time of day and road construction. I am less familiar with the East side of town but maybe someone else will chime in.
I second CountryGirl. Don't take any chances. I would choose Brentwood as well because it is safe area and in a good location. It is a 20-25 min commute, and the hotels are decent. Baymont is good and the Mainstay Suites also.

You commute daily to Maryland Farms? You're retired. I have done the commute every day for years.

There is no way you'll get to the airport from Maryland Farms in 20 minutes. That's just not realistic.

I will work M - Th in Nashville and plan to drive back to our home in Putnam County for a long weekend.
The hotels around the airport run around $120 per day (including taxes), which is too expensive. But the other hotels and apartments in the area seem to have horrible on line reviews, with complaints of roachs and bedbugs. I wonder if it is true about the bedbugs?

Can anyone recommend a good lower priced hotel within a reasonable commute distance of the Nashville airport? Thanks to all who take their time to answer.
Checkout Priceline express deals. I am seeing at this time, 3 stars for about $101 w tax via Express Deals first full week Jan 2019, Franklin, Tn is what I entered, 3 star or better quality. Now its non refundable, but if you register-sometimes they show the name up front. I suspect even that rate will drop as winter pushes on.
