As someone who lives between S.R. 24 and I-40 in western Putnam County, I must say I am extremely lucky to have no damage whatsoever. Mom was never so sure in her life that we would be directly hit, and we never got a single outage nor more debris than a few sticks. It literally JUST MISSED US.

Condolences to the friends, partners, spouses and relatives of those lost and/or injured. A colossal city core and multiple other urban areas directly hit with 150mph+ winds is almost the worst thing that can happen.

Been following all day.

Thoughts & prayers from someone who was pleased to live in the Nashville metro region 17 years.

Nashville battles through adversity by coming together better than any region in this fine nation. It will again.

It could have been much worse.
1) Glad you didn't have to experience it first-hand.

2) Hopefully nothing of consequence was damaged. Insurance can fix the windows and roof. Sucks that you have to go through this, though.

So glad that all my friends in Nashville are safe. So sorry about those who lost their lives and for those who have to contend with the damage.

Last night was literally my 3rd night living in Nashville (the statistician in me says I can expect a horrifying tornado 33% of the time). Woke up to blaring sirens and my phone going absolutely nuts, and I still had some strange instinct it was a false alarm, even though there was so much lightning it looked like police lights flashing outside the house. Once I realized it was the real deal I woke up the 2 year old and scooped our 6 month old and headed to the basement.

Very thankful to be one of the lucky neighborhoods that it missed, but I think the combination of new house, new city and new babies will make last night a long term, top of mind very scary memory for me.

We're ok here.

I hope that Edgefield D is alright. He is very close to the heavy damage.

Glad you’re ok. And yes, hope Edgefield D is alright. The pictures coming out of his neighborhood look bad.

You'll never forget that night. I reluctantly moved to San Diego almost 20 years ago. I was expecting an earthquake the next day. It didn't happen till 10 years later. Earthquakes are weird. You feel like you're walking on jello. Luckily, no major damage.
