Hey everyone,

I recently moved from New York to Nashville and am missing some things from home. With the pandemic it has been hard for us to explore and find certain things or even good places to eat. I am particular looking for Spanish food as I am Puerto Rican and am missing some comforts. I have looked everywhere for Goya discs for empanadas and have not had any luck. Any recommendations are helpful even the best pizza you have had here. Just a little home sick during these hard times. Thanks in advance

Might be easier in the meantime to find out if your favorite places from home ship those products.

Unfortunately I have not found the particular item I think because it is frozen. I have been researching international grocery stores and will look into visiting soon.

For pizza maybe try NY Pizza. It appears they do takeout.

In the meantime, until you find what you're looking for you've always got Arnolds for comfort food. That's something the Big Apple doesn't have.

Surely there are some Hispanic food stores that carry some of the items you'd be looking for--off Nolensville Road.

Jungle Jim’s (two locations) is in Cincinnati which is about a 4.5 hour drive BUT it’s a GIGANTIC international food emporium. The last time I was there I shopped in the morning. Had lunch. And went back for MORE shopping. You can drive up and back in a day. Bring a cooler with dry ice and get all you need. Probably sold out of some things now but really, it has good (frozen and fresh) food items from all over the globe.

Try MazFresco and other small tiendas in the Plaza Mariachi location on Nolensville Pike.
