Like the title says, I’ll be vacationing in Nashville for 4th of July weekend. Is enough of the city open to make it a fun trip? Is Broadway back to being pretty much normal? I realize y’all are in phase 3 but just wanted to make sure. I’ll be staying downtown.

A lot of the bars and pedal taverns have reopened to a certain extent. However, the County Music Hall of Fame is closed, and the Ryman is open but at a reduced and limited capacity.

Also, there are still ongoing protests (mainly around the state capitol and city hall) and a general spike in Covid-19 cases in the city. I feel like there may be larger protests again to coincide with the holiday, but nothing is confirmed. Also, some of the bars had their beer licenses suspended for failure to follow the city's reopening protocol. I'm not sure if they'll have them back by the weekend of the 4th.

The average number of new Covid cases is on the rise. Just had day with the highest total new case for the whole time. Disturbing is that 50% of the cases have an unknown source. The other 50% could be from someone you know that could be ill. The next 2 weeks will be very critical to stop this. This may not be the time to travel to a big city.

The downtown fireworks have been cancelled. There may be some streaming of the music. The Grand Ole Opry continues as a podcast. The Nashville Zoo is open with limited capacity & you must buy online tickets to get in. Many features are closed.

The fireworks have not been canceled. There is enough stuff open to have a good time. Most of the restaurants and bars are open. Tour buses are starting again. It's probably a good time to visit because it wont be as busy as usual. Don't let the fear mongering people discourage you.

Link to firework information here.

Yeah it shouldn't be as crowded because it is a pretty dead time of year locally. A lot of residents go out of town that week.

But the honky-tonks will be open and definitely want your business.

Well, what you think of when you think of the downtown fireworks is not happening. You can watch them on TV or a limited capacity rooftop bar. No concert stage. I guess techinically not cancelled, but may as well be IMHO.

Did a quick check. Find fireworks stores as close as Grassland in Williamson county. It appears all you have to do is get outside of Nashville & Davidson county. With a 3/4 day weekend just may have to sit outside when it gets dark out. BYOF.
