So, in looking at land in Hickman county, I've noticed that every single home/property had a massive tax hike (roughly a 3-fold increase) in 2017.


Actual Example:



City: Nunnelly

Taxes 2016: $548
Taxes 2017: $1,804


The tax assessment didn't change much, at least not outside of it's normal rate.


Not surprisingly, data also reflects an associated spike in home sales for the city - also roughly 3-fold.



I see this for every property, specifically looking the city of Nunnelly. However, I'm not able to find any articles or references to this hike on the internet.


Does anybody know what drove this increase?

Are you looking on Zillow? I did a quick search and found a pretty large discrepancy between what they show as the property tax and what the county site shows as the property tax.

Cross check the addresses you are looking at on this site:
