Attention Chinese people with cooking skills from larger cities who are interested in making a boatload of money: move to Nashville and open up a high quality Chinese restaurant that uses high quality ingredients.

To say there's a demand here is an understatement. Mostly every transplant I talk about food with says the same thing - Chinese food here is garbage.

Thank you in advance and enjoy your newfound wealth.

I sometimes wonder what city the utopia designed by transplants would most resemble.

Correct. The Chinese food here is for palate damaged Americans. Though if you get to know the owner at lucky bamboo he might give you more authentic dishes. But what I would give for a Hunan place.

Many Chinese restaurants have two menus--American and another for the Chinese. The second you may have difficulties reading, however.

Talk to the owner and have him bring you one of his personal favorite dishes. And I promise you it won't be Moo Goo Gai Pan.

Agreed. After 12 years Ive largely given up on Chinese food here and see it as an occasional treat along with hot dogs ,gyros, beef sandwhiches and pizza when I visit back home (Chicago).
Cant blame the locals for having different tatstes.

It's still hard to believe that Nashville has 2500 restaurants--more than all the other restaurants in the state combined.

And still no great Chinese restaurant in sight? That's a shame.

But you can get great Central American, Vietnamese and other foods along Nolensville Road.

If Lucky Bamboo is considered good, then we really are in bad shape.

I'm not an expert, but from what I've tried, this place is excellent and has a incredible authentic Chinese menu.

They used to have a location in the heart of "downtown" Brentwood, but it's closed so this spot at the corner of Nolensville Road and Concord Road, operated by the same family, will have to do.
