I was wondering the attitude of people in Nashville regarding couples that have kids but are not married.

That's a pretty broad question. I'm sure some will have issues with it, but society, here and seemingly everywhere else has changed. I personally wouldn't anticipate anything problematic. Native Nashvillian here and there's plenty of things in the world to be concerned about, and that's one of of them for me.

I strongly doubt Nashville would show any bias against people not married with children. It is such a melting pot here of all types of people in all types of relationships. As long as you are happy friendly people, that is all that matters to me.

That isn't much of a issue here. What they'll want to know is what church you go to. I work at a company with several lesbian couples with children. Now that is lively conversation around break time. But they still go to a church. Go figure.

I'm thinking you meant "that's not one of them for me" ?

Mike..hopefully people are more open minded than to worry about it.
There are all different kinds of families and as long as the children are being raised in a loving environment, that's all that matters.

Oh...and FWIW....I go to a church with many gay couples who have adopted children. God loves everyone last time I checked.

My next door neighbors in Brentwood had a child and weren't married. No one really knew or cared. They also went to church

We didn't go to church and were the talk of the cul-de-sac.

Wow, no one here asks me if I go to church. I do, but not everyone does, One did ask me to join her church when I moved here, but its the other side of town and not the same denomination that I belong to.
Imo, I'm sure there are plenty here that do not attend church.

To the Op,
No one cares. There are many here that have children that are not married.
No one has the right to judge anyone, only God.

Uh oh. Thx, Tunky, just saw my post and saw that. For some reason, my edit function isn't working. But thanks for clearing me up on that. It definately is NOT an issue with me.

No one asked us either. We never thought about it and figured people didn't even notice whether or not we went. Then I befriended neighbors' nanny and she told me that everyone was wondering what religion we were and why we didn't go to church on Sunday.
