I thought I'd seen a thread from a few months about the best Italian restaurant in Nashville. All I found were general "best restaurant" threads.

Anyway, anyone care to offer their suggestion for the best Italian restaurant? I've eaten at most of them on the west side of town . . . but I keep thinking there's got to be one even better than the ones I've been to (I'm think of classic Italian rather than northern Italian, but either one will do).

I'll offer one. I don't live far from Antonio's in Bellevue and I go there occasionally and I'd give it a "good" rating and have always enjoyed the meals I've had there. But . . . what's some other good choices?

I like Mama Mia's, off of Trousdale. Not very big, but darn good...just get there early or you'll have to wait.

I use to work just up the street from Valentino's at Palmer Plaza and occasionally had lunch there. I don't think I've ever had dinner there however. I did see a few country music stars there from time to time (my stupid friends tried to chase down Ray Stevens one time . . . why, I don't know).

ok...so its not in Nashville...but you need to try Molinari's in Cool Springs. Its odd, seeing as how it is in a strip mall, but the food is AMAZING!!!!!!! The place is packed pretty much every night of the week, so just be ready to wait for a little bit to get seated.

I read about Valentino's in a magazine yesterday - I look forward to trying it out. Is it tough to get to by car??

I agree with Sole Mio and there is free parking there.
I also like Magianos in the West End.

Welcome to Sole Mio "Real Italian Cuisine"

It's right on West End Avenue. There's valet parking, or you can park behind it (off of Lyle Avenue).
