I'm looking to relocate as a retiree. Looking at Nashville I see it is already getting quite expensoive. I would like to pay no more than 325,000 for a nice newer 2 bdr 2 bathroom townhome. I saw Old Hickory is up and coming. Does anyone know this area? Is it a high crime area? Are schools good as my grandchildren may move also. Is there much to do in the area? Does anyone know of surrounding areas that are safe? Thank you

Murfreesboro is pretty safe in most areas. I've followed a couple of townhomes selling in the $245,000 range by the Seigel Soccer field complex.

Old Hickory is a neighborhood of Nashville Davidson county. Adjacent is Hermitage. Both get their name from the home & museum of President Jackson. Next to Hermitage is Donelson that is just north of BNA. All 3 are generally safe areas. All 3 feed into the MNPS. Old Hickory sits on a bend in the Cumberland. To the west via Old Hickory Blvd can take you to Rivergate or North Nashville. Old Hickory is best known for DuPont plant.

Not sure what townhomes in Old Hickory meet your needs but could be plenty nearby. Old Hickory is also fairly close to the Opryland area.

They're building a ton of townhomes in Old Hickory right now. They were going for$260-300K, but they may have gone up some.
