We'll be in Nashville next week for a few days for a job interview and are wondering if we had just one day free to visit a few areas, where should we go? Not interested in looking at the sights and sounds so much as best neighborhoods/areas to visit to get a feel for the area. I know it's not much time, but even just a few hours in a place is better than never visiting.

My wife and I have three kids, 14, 12, and 10 and will be looking for a good school system. The wife's possible job will include a commute (hybrid remote so every few days) to the State Capitol area. We have no idea of possible neighborhoods, traffic patterns, or pretty much anything Nashville so any advice would be helpful. My family (both parents) were originally from TN, so I spent many summers there but mainly in Crump and around Savannah. Been to Nashville once but maybe 20 years ago so I'm sure things are quite different.

Franklin, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville, and Mt Juliet might be cities you want to check out. Your housing budget may be helpful.

Thanks for the information. We plan to rent for a while before purchasing. Great time to sell (in our current location) but those interest rates . . .

When we do buy, we're probably in the 400-500K range.

In 20 years Nashville survived the big flood, tornadoes, Covid panic. so maybe now getting back to "normal".

After you look north, east, south, consider West Nashville, Bellevue, maybe Fairview. Depends how far you want to drive to get to downtown Nashville & Capitol.

For 1 day you don't have much time. Still, I would recommend going to Centennial Park and visit the Parthenon. Be sure to go inside & see Athena.
