Hi,

Can someone give me some info about living in Kingston Springs, TN?

For example:
- How is household garbage collected? Do you leave it outside your house for pickup?
- Are there city or town sewers? Or do people have septic tanks?
- Is there a water system, or is it well water?
- Do people have gas stoves? Or only electric/induction?
- Are property taxes lower in Kingston Springs than in Nashville?

Please include any other info that you think would be important.

Thanks so very much!

Former decades long resident here;
  • You are responsible for your own trash disposal. You can haul it to the County dump or there is a quality trash pick-up company with whom you can contract to come collect your trash on a weekly basis.
  • The city has a quality sewer system if you live in town. Otherwise a septic system is required.
  • There is a 'City' water system in the city and surrounding area.
  • There are natural gas lines in major portions of the city.
  • Unlike many towns of Kingston Springs size, it does have property taxes. As I remember, ours was less than a $1,000/year. The taxes allow the funding of a topflight police department. KS's crime rate was one of the lowest in the NATION!! Beautiful parks and a quality Fire Department are also available.

We moved to follow children to another city, but I deeply loved living in Kingston Springs. My kids went to the three schools there. It is a home base for multiple celebrities of which I've crossed paths with quite a few. They are soccer Moms and Dads just like everyone else. And the City is a well-run, generally progressive governmental entity which protects the beautiful surrounding landscape.

And it's close to Nashville and Franklin to all the shopping, jobs, entertainment and dining and education you would want on a regular basis.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to write a response to my questions. I am very grateful!
I’m curious though that you say the government of KS is progressive. Does that mean liberal? Blue?
My goal in leaving NY and fleeing to TN is to get away from a blue environment. I thought TN was red.

Kingston Springs may be a tiny Democrat island in a sea of Republicans. These Democrats may be more conservative compared to the liberal woke party. No democrat congress representative here.

Kingston Springs is a small community less than 3,000 on the Harpeth. Very safe area. On I-40 & Charlotte Pike not far from Bellevue or West Nashville shopping.

Default Democrat Island Not Desirable

Thank you for your most important reply.

I am not packing and moving out of NY to relocate to a Democrat Island!
I will have to keep looking for some place else.

Thank you!
