My fiancee and I will be moving to the Murfreesboro area soon. He will be a visiting professor at MTSU. The issue we are having, is trying to find a place that will take three pets. We have two cats and a small dog. Everywhere I look there is a two pet limit Can anybody let me know of anywhere thay might accept three small animals. We are primarily looking for a 2+ bedroom place, up to 900 a month. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Erika

Well, I do not know of any place that takes 3, but you could only claim you have 2 and if you get caught with 3 just say you are watching one of the cats just for the day for a friend or realtive. Just a thought, but you didn't hear it from me...LOL

I had to do that too. I had 4 cats and only claimed I had 2. I know they had to know I had more as they came in my apt two times when I wasn't there. Once to affix some sprinkler stickers and another time to change the a/c filter. I know they had to have seen I had more. I just made sure I kept the place spotless and paid my rent on time or early. No one ever said anything to me. The rent thing is key. I don't think they will bother with you if you are a good rent paying tenant. I even got my entire deposit back when I moved.

I agree completely Kim. Plus, they were probably maintenance folks who came into your apt. and could really care less about 4 cats as long as the place was clean and the cats didn't attack. I am sure MANY MANY people are in the same situation.

Yes, my daughter did the same thing. She has 2 older cats who do nothing but nap all day.

She pays her rent promptly, and keeps the apartment spotless. Her landlord has no issues with the two cats at all.

I'm surprised that every response to the OP so far has suggested lying about the number of pets she has and seeming so cavalier about it. Just because you can get away with it doesn't make it right. If she did this, not only would she be in violation of her lease agreement, but if anyone finds out about it(i.e., especially children) it doesn't send the greatest message for doing the right thing. I would think that people in the community would expect a little more integrity from a visiting professor at MTSU. I guess I'm also a little troubled that someone comes on this board asking for help to solve a problem she has and the only suggestions so far are to lie.

Better to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Are you from here? Or are you a transplant? Reason I ask is I'm shocked at your responce.About anyone I know in my neck of the woods would say no harm has been done.

I can't blame a person for wanting to keep a pet, folks with a little heart find it hard to part with them.

Now if somebody was asking advice on how to cheat the IRS or cover up a murder, now that'd be a crime.

I am from TN and I'm not sure what difference that makes. The OP wasn't asking for advice on how to cheat, she was asking for help in finding a place to stay with her pets. The only advice she was given was to lie about the number of pets that she had. My comments had nothing to do with wanting to keep a pet but were directed at the people who responded by telling the OP that she should lie. Being raised in this neck of the woods I was always told to do the right thing and don't lie. I've just come to believe that was good advice.
