Hello, I am a mid twenties SINGLE blk female looking to LEAVE Mississippi!I have been researching cities like Austin,Dallas,Phoenix,Seattle, and last but not least Nashville.I am less than six months away from my big move. I lived in Atl for a year and loved but hated it at the same time.So my question is how does Nashville rate in the eyes of those who have visited and those who live here.I am planning to visit some time in October to see if i would like it.Where are nice, safe, and reasonable areas to live? What can I expect from the nightlife?Of course living in MS we don't have very much to do but that's why I'm leaving.Just some general comments what you love what you hate or just reasons why or why not to move to Nashville are greatly appreciated!!

One area you might look at is Germantown near downtown if you're interested in living in a more urban area. At one time it had become a run-down area but it's coming back and there's now some nice restaurants, some new and renovated loft condo projects, etc. It's also not too far from most of the "club scene".

You might also look at the Midtown area. It's a nice area with a lot of conveniences, but it is a little pricey.

I liked Atlanta, but honestly I felt like most of the men I met were gay. It was probably me just being a little sketchy since alot of women warned me that most of the men or maybe just the black men were gay.I don't mind hanging with them but didn't wana date them!!I'm really into city life and Atlanta offered me that minus the men

I lived in vinings near atl and in cool springs near nashville while I was single. I much prefer nashville for the small town atmosphere with some big city nightlife - not a ton but enough for me. I also feel like the men are more of the marrying kind in nashville, that's where I found my hubby. I live in phoenix now but I would move back to nashville if I had the chance.

LOL about not wanting to date the gay men, maybe it's the other way around that the gay men didn't want to date you!

You'll love Nashville, to me, it's as big of a city as you make it. There is something going on here all the time & if you can't find things to do or people to hang out with after you move then you probably won't be able to anywhere.
