I think, coming from Gallatin, it's I-65. I could be wrong, but that was my thinking. I don't commute that way, but I know they have finished construction on I-65.

It is I-65.

It would depend on the actual time you commute. Afternoons (at 5:00) would generally be worse than the mornings. There are some "back ways" around the worse typical traffic jams. For example, taking Ellington Parkway for part of the trip if you're going downtown.

Where exactly are you going to in Nashville?

Traffic is one of the things my friend and I are concerned with when we move. I want to work in the Downtown area. Not sure what area we'll be living in yet, but it most likely will be on the outskirts somehwere. I've been hearing it's a nightmare but like any major city, it comes with the territory. Is it just congestion mostly or standstill?

It . . . depends. ;-)

It depend on which way you're going, and at what time. There are a number of notorious bottlenecks around Nashville at rush hour. You can listen to the traffic report every morning on the radio and it's the same six or seven spots every day. And heaven help you if there's an accident up ahead (although they do seem to do a little better these days clearing an accident scene).

But, I travel I-40 from Bellevue in the southwest part of the county to MetroCenter near downtown and it takes me 20 minutes in the morning (non-rush hour) and 25 minutes in the afternoon (not quite rush hour).

Going in or leaving work at non-peak traffic times will help a lot if you can arrange it.

They could take Highway 109 down from Gallatin to I-40. There always seems to be a problem around I-40 and Feslers Lane.
