Hello,
I am new to this forum, but boy am I glad that I found it. I am from MI but currently live in Poland with my Polish husband. We are looking to move back to the states in a few years and I am beginning the research on where to move. We have basically narrowed it to TN, either middle or eastern.

We would really like to be in a nice town but not a big city. Here is what we are looking for. I am hoping that some of you may have suggestions for us!

1. Not too big, max about +/- 60,000 people
2. Not a suburb of a big city, we don't want the traffic or big city life
3. A good school system
4. Decent shopping, movies, etc., maybe a mall and Walmart, Home Depot etc. with in a 30 minute drive
5. nice landscape, I mean lots of trees around, maybe water of some sort, river/lake? rolling hills...
6. nice churches, I am Methodist but don't care so much what denomination as long as it is a good friendly church with nice family activities.
7. Low crime rate
8. Family activies in town, play groups, kids extra cirricular, etc..

Now these are all just ideas and some are more important than others, but you can get the gist of what's importnat to us from this list. Thanks so much for reading and for your replies! Dani

Check in the Springfield area. It is a small town with big city amenties. The crime rate reported to city-data is a little off in my opinion. I think it is a low crime rate. Has good extracuricular activites for kids. And some very good churches of any type of donomination.

If you have any questions shoot me a PM.

Take Care
