I am looking for a house for my family (wife and 1 a year old kid). I heard about some cool things in east nashville and i used to rent house in lockleland spring and i really love my life here. My friend who use to live there told me Mcgavock n' riverside would be the best too. Now I am looking house in that area but i need some more information about another good area to live for my choice. I am looking for 3 bdr with 2 bath with 150K to spend for investment and living for next 3-4 years.

Thank you!

I would look on realtracs.com under area 6 (parts of Madison are also in this area) The zipcode for Inglewood is 37216. I love it here also. BTW, Pied Pipery Eatery opened last week (I am trying that today) and a new resteraunt is opening next to Mitchell's Deli next week. If your looking to rent I would try Craig's List. Good luck.

Inglewood is a very large neighborhood. McGavock and Riverside area does have some good stock in your price range. One of my favorites is one for $149K on Lee Davis Road in that area. Other cute spots in Inglewood are on the other side of Gallatin Road in the Maplewood/Inglewood part. Streets like Burrus, Horseshoe and Maplewood are all adorable. There's a small pocket of Inglewood called "Iverson," that has cute homes, too. If you're mapping it, the street, Iverson, will be the central part of the neighborhood and the streets run parallel with Iverson to the west of Gallatin.

On the east side of Gallatin, the areas of Greenland are cute and have options. Additionally, Janie is a great little street. Finally, South Inglewood is going through a redevelopment with new street signs, benches, streetscaping, etc. Most of the housing stock in that area will be in the perimeter near South Inglewood park.

Brian said it very well. And he's right, Janie is a great little street. I grew up on Janie through high school and college, lived in the trendy West Side for a bunch of years and now have landed BACK on Janie...bought my house 11 years ago now.

I know of one great house, at 1414. It might not be as large as you want, 2-Bed, 1 bath, but great yard, good living spaces, incredible neighbors and it's been under loving care for decades. If you'd like to see, I have a key...the owner lives in Texas now, and I keep a watchful eye. Just let me know.

Oh yes, if you move to Janie, bring a lawn mower. I've been known to write "tickets" to those whose yards remain unkept. LOL. I'm only sort of kidding. Ha.
