Hello to all, with much prayer and consideration. My husband & I have decided to move down to Nashville in Summer 09 from Indianapolis.

I currently work for a large insurance company as a licensed commercial agent and my husband works for the City of Indianapolis Probation Drug Lab.

I recently completed my Human Resource Management Certification and have a B.A from Purdue University. I've also completed a HR Compensation/Benefits internship with a downtown hospital and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Although I have a lot of insurance background, I do not wish to continue a career in the insurance industry. With the current economy, I am willing to take an insurance job to start out but, would rather find a job in HR preferably at a Nashville hospital or clinic. I am also willing to start out entry level in HR and work my way up.

My husband has several years experience working for area plasma centers as a phlebotomist and intake collector and would also do well at a hospital.

- Can anyone give us some more information about the major area hospital jobs (including the surrounding areas like Brentwood, Mufreesboro, etc) and HR firms in the city? And if you or know someone who works for them, please advise where we can apply in person or online.

- Are there any stable & major insurance companies in Nashville (i.e. Anthem, Liberty Mutual, Wellpoint, Aetna etc.)

- What are some the reliable temp service agencies?

We appreciate all the info.

Thank you.

Nashville has lots of healthcare and healthcare companies. You probably wouldn't have a hard time finding a job in the normal economy, however I just heard that in the healthcare world in Nashville there are hiring freezes and planned layoffs. You might check with Vanderbilt's jobline on www.vanderbilt.edu and would probably be your best bet for both of you right now. We do have lots of insurance companies and if you want to post a job hunt, go to www.insurors.org and click on the jobs link. It will allow you to look for insurance company jobs as well as post what job you are looking for. Good luck

GabbyKnashville,

Thank you so much for the information. With the economy, we know that we'd better start looking now because our lease ends in July but we have to give a 60 day notice in May so all this will definitely be a great help to us.

Have A Wonderful Blessed Week.

Firechick,

Thank you so much for the info. This REALLY REALLY helps out a lot. Hopefully, we'll find something before July, I know with the economy things are bad but Im still hopeful about Nashville.

Have A Blessed Week.

Remember that Firechick only posted the largest hospitals within Nashville itself. There are a number of additional hospitals in Nashville and the surrounding counties.

I would make General Hospital a last choice because it is mainly where uninsured people go and they are having money problems at the moment

Metro General needs more, quality people to work there. Personally, I would find it more rewarding working with people that really need the help. Obviously, If we could all afford it, We'd go to Vanderbilt.
