It seems that every place that I find to reasonable is not the best of areas to move to? My question is what areas would you move (North or South of Nashville) if you had 200-250K to spend on a home, want a growing area, low crime, decent school systems. Thanks alot. If you could give me 2 or 3 that would be great!

You might want to check out Spring Hill, Thompsons Station, Smyrna or Murfressboro.
They all have alot to offer...good schools for the most part and affordable.

Hendersonville, Goodlettsville, White House, Joelton...areas north or so of Nashville. I'm biased in favor of Hendersonville.

I favor the idea of Spring Hill. Thompsons Station is a more expensive area

You can even get a house in Franklin for 200-250, so why go through the traffic to Spring Hill or Hendersonville?

The traffic up & around Hendersonville isn't nearly as bad as Brentwood & Franklin. For that reason alone, I would say Hendersonville, Springfield, Goodlettsville or Gallatin.

My favorite is Hendersonville, hands down.

You might want to look at the West side of Nashville, i.e Bellevue, even Pegram, Fairview. Bellevue is fairly close to downtown and is really growing, but still affordable. Also, easy access to the interstate (I-40)

Probably the area I want to leave - the lovely state of connecticut. smartest and richest, excellent schools and very low to no crime in the country areas - northwest or the Golden Corridor. Suburbs of Hartford, or toward the Mass border. jenny

Artemis- you think the traffic is worse to Franklin/Brentwood than Hendersonville?! The only time I see any problem in F/B is in Cool Springs around Christmas. Isn't the commute in/out of Hendersonville legendarily problematic? I've been caught in it a few times and it c r a w l e d. I always hear of problems "in Hendersonville, on Vietnam Vets or just 65 north of town" in the morning. Am I imagining things?
