I'm looking to move to Hendersonville/Goodlettsville area next fall to be near my school(Vol State) and do anyone know of some available section 8 properties.

I'm not sure how old this list is, but it's a start.

You might also contact Legal Aid to see if they have a current list available.

I'm originally from Sumner County & the only one in Hendersonville coming to mind is Wessington. It's not like Goodlettsville is too far from Vol-State but if you're moving just to be near the school then I would go closer than that & stay in Gallatin or Hville.

Wessington is worth checking out. It is one of the nicer Section 8 properties around... which is kind of like having the best body at fat camp, but at least you don't have to worry nearly as much about crime and safety as you would in most other government subsidized housing complexes.

There are several Section 8 complexes in Gallatin, but I have no idea if they are safe, decent places to live. One in particular that I am familiar with -- the one directly behind Gallatin High School -- I would not recommend, based on the types of people I saw coming in and out when I used to jog up and down that road.
