Hi,

My husband has a great opportunity in Nashville, TN that will be taking place in the next month or two. I have tried discussing with my ex-husband about relocating and moving our son down there. We have both remarried and I have a daughter with my new husband. The economy is better down there for the industry he is going into as well as having a lower cost of living down there as well verses here in Michigan. Unfortunately my ex won't even sit down and discuss relocating or even what our situation is. We have been civil but he has now told me that he is going to make it hell for me to move out of state with my son. My ex has our son every thursday and every other weekend. He now wants to take him every other week for an entire week just to start trouble - his words exactly.

I am trying to keep things equal and as civil as I can. I know I am going to have to end up hiring an attorney at some point to be able to move him out of state with me. I do understand that if I do I have to prove that its better for him to move down there with us than stay up here with him. I also know that he will probably end up having him for holidays and during the summer times as well.

Sorry for the longwindedness but here's my questions that I need some help with.
1. Does anyone know of a great attorney that will be able to assist me with my case? (Although I do understand that I will have to find MI attorney - I do know there are some people from Michigan that have moved to TN and may be able to help me)
2. What information will I need in order to help my situation?
3. Any additional info that will help me would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks so much to anyone that can be of any assistance!!

As far as hiring "a great attorney" you need to look for one where you now live, not where you are moving to. Once you do that the attorney should be able to better answer your other questions.
You may want to move/post this question in a thread where people will see it that live where you now live.
Good luck!
