Just starting to get familiar with this- and while I have heard GREAT things in general about Nashville, and the fact that this thread is relatively older, I am wondering about Franklin/Nashville as a possible retirement location... we are late 50's/early 60's, looking to possibly do this in about 2 or 3 years. Of course we will visit, but wondering what you can share for more current info. Thank you-- and I totally agree that messianic temples would NOT be what a JEWISH person would be looking for. thank you again

There are many that retired here. I belong to The New Neighbors League which meets in Nashville/Brentwood/Franklin. Most are in that age group, including me. Its $47 to Join, and $24 a year there after.
I agree also that Messanic Temples are not for a Jewish person to Join. That is why I recommended Congregation Micah earlier in the thread.

Yes it did. It was quite a few years ago now and no longer archived, but WSMV t.v-4. interviewed the anti-American and anti-Israeli pro-palestinian sympathizers (college aged - probably mtsu students)

It was on the 6 p.m. news. I have no reason to make this up.

There was also a great deal of consternation in Murf. in 2000 over Al Gore's choice for a running mate. This not only included the anti-American palestinian sympathizers, but local "rednecks" as well who were heard spouting their functionally illiterate views such as (in their most exaggerated southern nascar drawl)
quote:
"If Gore gets elected, them there Jews is gonna kill Gore so they can have 'em a Jew president."

^ yes, this was actually said in public by a local redneck ^

"It is obvious MHadden88 is a bigot and a Nazi sympathizer," Forrester said. "His YouTube Channel included videos implying that the Holocaust was a lie and denying the existence of Nazi gas chambers. Another video claimed that the Anne Frank diary was a hoax."

How this is related to Murf. -
