Well, Lower Antioch.............it's a really cloudy line. I work in "upper Antioch" and drive right through the middle of Antioch. I suppose anything south of Bell Road/Old hickory Blvd. could be lummped into the "LA" term.

lower as in "below" or lower as in "sub-quality or bad area" as opposed to Upper Antioch? its unclear what Lower Antioch means really.

I think it got termed off people saying they lived in "L.A." and someone else would say "wheres that?" and then they would say "Lower Antioch" and get a laugh... there are areas in South Nashville, which is still antioch area west of OHB and south of Bell Rd like Barnes Rd, Sugar Valley, etc. between Nol and OHB but south of OHB (where it drops the name BELL rd) that are really quality people in nice neighborhoods... even some of those neighborhoods on Blue Hole between Pettus and Bell Rd like Deer Valley look nice...

Not sure if its meant to be degrading or what... but its a good question!

Lower Antioch is the area near the Sam's Club on Harding Place. I used to have friends joke they were going to Bikini Beach (a bar, don't know if it's there still) in L.A.

It's safe enough, but there are a lot of better places in town and in Antioch.
