We're having one of those weird spring cold spells today. It was warm this weekend, but it's chilly (43 degrees) with light rain at the moment. In some of the outlying areas it's suppose to get down to the low 30's or high 20's tonight. After Wednesday it's suppose to be back up into the 60's and 70's.

We had a Road King when we moved here and after seeing the drivers and traffic in and around Nashville, the wife wouldn't ride anymore so I sold it. It is pretty scary sometimes. There are many, many instances where I'm glad I'm in a crew cab truck and not the Harley. I had one close call where a red light runner clipped my saddle bag and almost put me down.

I do miss it, but another MLC toy like a Corvette convertible makes more sense here.

I think a 21-year-old girlfriend makes even more sense. Between the heavy traffic, bad drivers, and Serpas's radar Nazis, Nashville isn't the place for a sports car.

If you don't mind a commute (about 1 hour) Franklin, KY might be a good option. It has a lot of small town charm...even a drive-in theatre. You are about 40 minutes from shopping/dining in Hendersonville and Gallatin and about 30 minutes from the same in Bowling Green, KY.

But that might not go over so well with the wife...Plus, a Corvette is probably cheaper.

Hey we liked the look (cliffs) of Spring Hill area but can anyone tell me how far that is from Nashville? It seemed more rural, yet close to Franklin for shopping. Can you still purchase acreages out there? We are avid mc riders AND bicycles and love seeing that "space". Thanks. Maybe this would be a good place, too for "labmom" to look at, ....unless that is tooooooooooooo far south.

Try Lebanon or Watertown. Both are pretty historic. Watertown is very charming and has a great downtown square and neighborhood area. It would be very bicycle friendly. Lebanon has a nice square, but is a tad on the "bustling city" side. Depending on what section of town you would be biking, it is good to bike also. The houses near Cumberland University are great!
Good luck in your search!

Default Small Town Hampshire

We live in Hampshire TN. I own a bed and breakfast and have cyclist coming from the Natchez Trace staying at my B&B all the time. This area is a great place to ride. They have a great school also. Check it out. We also have three wineries out here. Affordable housing market.
