I just moved from Lubbock, TX to Murfreesboro, TN with my husband and 2 middle school kids. We are currently living in an apartment in the Siegel zone. The people we have talked to insist that Siegel is far superior and safer than Oakland, Blackman, and Riverdale. The problem is that there are very few homes for sale in Siegel zone in our price range ($350,000 - 450,000), and virtually no new construction. There are many homes for sale in the other school zones. Can anyone give me information on why Siegel is so much better than the others? The test scores are higher, but by only about 2% which is negligible. Is there a drug problem or bullying at the other school? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would also like to know bout this as well...I am guessing that since it is such a expensive area to live in, they might want to keep it this way and not allow any more building maybe. I heard that blackman and Riverdale are good schools, I may be looking there as my limit is 200 grand for a home. How do you like the general area?

Drugs and Bullying are in all schools, trust me, the best defense is to monitor your childs friends, teach them self respect skills and how to defend oneself, and teach bout drug use, cause it does not matter where you go, seen it in the nicest areas, best schools, they just cover better.
