I just got a job in Smyrna, and will be moving to the area in July. My question is, where would be the best place to live? My husband will be driving into Nashville frequently, so we need a good "inbetween" area. We looked into the Verandas and Stoneridge Farms in Smyrna, but should we be looking in Nashville? Or is there a better place I'm not finding?

I am mainly concerned of safety and the niceness factor.

Your probably better off in Smyrna because it would be less expensive than Nashville. You also probably would not get anything as new. If your husband didn't need to go to Nashville, I would have suggested Murfreesboro.

Congrats on the Job!

Smyrna is a safe and nice area based from my experience whenever I go to the area to visit my friends there.

Welcome and congratulatioins!

I'm life-long Rutherfrd County resident willing to provide any assistance I can. I'm running out the door right now, but wanted to post a welcome to you quickly.

What are some of your requirements for lodging? School aged kids? Let me know as much about your desires and requirements as you can and I'll be happy to help you out in a bit!

MM

lodging means a temporary place to stay or rooms for rent.

OP is asking for a place to live not lodging

We are wanting to rent. I'm thinking the Verandas will be a good place, because they are brand new. They are located on the other side of I 24, on Sam Ridley. We don't have kids, and I don't think my husband will be driving to Nashville during rush hour. I want to make sure we will not have to worry too much about any crime, or such. Is there any "reputation" of Smyrna, bad or good. Also, what can you tell me about Smyrna Elementary?

Live in Nashville! You won't regret it & you could regret living in Smyrna. There are also really good deals on real estate in Davidson County now & good schools.

...Driving to Nashville from Smyrna all the time, for whatever reason, could suck, especially when gas goes back up...

Lodging also means a place to live, a place to rent, a small house, etc.

The Verandas seem nice and that area of town is fine. Smyrna Elementary is a great school with good faculty and a strong PTO.
