I don't know the official answer, but I've never had problems with allergies before until I moved to TN. Now it's itchy eyes and kerchoo!

I have been here 15 years and this year is by far the absolute worst year for me allergywise in TN.

I used to live in NW Ohio & never had allergy issues, just sinus. Now, I'm taking Zyrtec & nasal spray every day, as well as dealing with itchy eyes.

Tunky, where did you live before Nashville? I currently live in Evansville, IN and am considering a move to Nashville when I retire. My allergies are not too bad in Evansville. Since Evansville is not that far from Nashville, I would think that pollen allergies should not be too much different.

Except that the Nashville area sits in a big 'bowl' which tends to trap pollen. I'm 38, lived here all my life and just recently developed an allergy to pollen so severe that I take 3 medications each day and go in for allergy shots twice per week. It doesn't affect everyone - my Nashville-native husband just had allergy testing and he didn't react to anything - but my allergist said sooner or later, most everyone living here will develop pollen allergies because of how it collects in the bowl.

If you use twitter at all and need to know the severity of the different elements each day, follow @nashvillepollen on twitter! It's a great source for daily updates. You can also tell when to stay INSIDE depending on your allergy.

Given the topography of Nashville, things can be very different. I had to go on medicine when I moved here and I only came as far as Hopkinsville, KY.

You better take California off the sneeze list Tunky, we moved to Nashville area 6 months ago and I still sneeze, but I do sneeze out cleaner air. LOL
